Somewhat OT - To Gary, and all my fellow Technogeeks -
Gary, I thought that was a gracious apology, with just the right amount of contrition. (Not a huge amount of contrition, for not a huge offense.)
Fellow Technogeeks, you have to admit that sometimes we do get carried away with the fine details of this technology vs. that. While these details may influence the computer peripherals market and/or Iomega's stock price over time, I can certainly see how a person with a trader's mentality, and thus a closer horizon, would find all our debates irrelevant.
Of course, trading in and out is NOT the only way to make money by investing, as many of the richest people in the country can attest. But some people, including Gary and the charming Trufflette, can stomach no other approach.
I guess we all know what I'm posting here, so I am cluttering the thread once more. I'm glad to see that the thread is settling back down into the tolerance mode. Everybody had better keep playing nice, because I have written a little piece of HTML code, which can be embedded in a post, that sends an electrical shock to the reader via the keyboard or mouse. ;-)

PS: BTW, I prefer "nerd." At parties, when people ask what I do, I say I'm a professional computer nerd. Reactions to that have changed over the last few years, from "Oh, you shouldn't put yourself down like that," to "Cool." |
