In a perverse way, its nice to know I'm not the only one sucked into this one. I bought because it was touted in a newsletter. At the time, it actually had a couple of cents in earnings and was selling for $1. I figured how often can you buy a penny stock that has actual earnings.
I haven't found a web site or anything else that gives any information. The company has a system called DocumentPlus. It purports to reduce the time doctors must spend on paperwork (insurance claims etc) by 90%. They have contracts with a good number of doctors and clinics and project growth. But, as you know, the stock is not followed by anyone besides you and me and trades infrequently. I personally own only 1000 shares and can't see selling at these levels. So, I'll probably hold and see if they come alive, get bought out or go bankrupt. The only info source I've found is at YAHOO Stock Quotes...it gives price, volume and news. The only news is last quarter's 10Q (earnings report)
If you are willing to take a little risk and like the biotechs, my choice is Alfacell (ACEL). They have a very promising anti-cancer drug about to complete Phase III trials this year. It is the only company doing RNA anti-tumor work. The drug, Oncanase, also seems to have an HIV application and , most promising, seems to combat Multiple Drug Resistence which opens the entire chemotherapy market.
Its a frustrating stock...they move at a snails pace. I've been in it for years, accumulating a rather large position. It still sells for less than $3 but I believe 1998 is the year for FDA approval and this one could be very big. Its worth a look if you are risk tolerant.
My other pick is an oil services company called Unifab (UFAB). The sector was on fire last year and got slaughtered recently. UFAB is the smallest of the bunch, lightly followed and has a tiny float. When the sector takes off again (move has already begun) they could (should??) return to old highs ($39). On sale today for $15 and change.
I'll take a look at BLTI. Thanks for the tip. Maybe we should pool our pennies and just swallow ATYG whole:-)
