There is no telling what the Donald will do in mid 2020 if he is behind in the polls. He is highly emotional and erratic now, which is very unbecoming a leader. His supporters think it is all an act and he has something under his sleeve. I think he is in over his head.
There were other ways to deal with grievances against China that did not involve self-destruction. The tragedy here is that very few in the administration and on Wall Street see current policy as self-destructive. Some Americans think they are being entertained. The Titanic was an entertaining movie also as long as one wasn't on board. This is a Greek tragedy in the making, still in it's early stages.
No real deal is possible and Trump will only get more desperate as 11/2020 approaches.
