Re: CashAPP

As far as I can tell, you Buy at the Ask and sell at the Bid as transactions get done real time. It's about a 1.5% spread so not that bad in transaction fees. You can then transfer into offline wallet or just keep in their CashApp system.

My strategy is just a hedge as I own Silver/Gold stocks (both pay tiny dividends), natural resource stocks w/ minerals & oil in the ground (they pay 4% div too), physical Gold & Silver and now I plan a little BitCoin.

This totals about 25% of my portfolio and is more a hedge against inflation w/ some income. My physical Gold/Silver was from my Dad on coins he bought in the early 80's.

When you look at compounded inflation it presents a pretty good picture of price inflation. Based on what my Dad paid for his gold coins (avg $295/oz), after 37 years their price based on $1548/oz (todays price) reflects a 4.5% compounded annual return. I believe my Dad paid an equivalent fee for the coins of 1.5% of the closing price . . it may have been more but not more than 2% which he transacted through a local coin dealer.

FWIW, at that time brokerage fees were as high as $100/trade, so buying small batches of stock had large fees over time.
