Redhead, When Equitrade puts their bid price at .12 cents this does not mean that they have any .12 stock. The .12 is just their bid price. They are saying that they will buy stock at .12 cents. When a Market Maker puts their bid price that far below the current bid price, they are basically saying they are not interested in buying any shares at this time.

Right now Alexander Westcott is the bid maker. They are offering the highest price to shareholders who want to sell. They are at .27 on the bid and their size is 50. The size means that they are committing to sell at least 5000 shares (50 blocks of 100) at .27 cents. So, if Equitrade sets their bid at .12 and the size 50, it is not likely that anyone will sell their shares to them. It basically takes them out of the buying market.

The poor investor that sold at .19 last week could have sold them to any of the market makers. But that Market Maker would likely turn around and sell them at their ask price, which for Equitrade is .28 right now.
