I guess the shorts think the Q2 results announce the first week of August were a fluke....the stock moving from 3.50ish to 4.50ish in a week was just motivation to short more. In their minds.

If Q3 brings a similar move around Halloween (or first week of November) the race to cover may be on. Short covering is something special if you're on the right side of it.
