take the US folk.. Lib or Con.. China is evil..

OK, well I think the Chinese Communist Party is evil for organ harvesting of prisoners and for reeducation camps for Uyghurs. Assuming you believe Uyghurs are Chinese in some fashion, the CCP are the predators of China and the Chinese people at large. The CPP may need reeducation camps for the 7 million people of HK before this is settled – yes, and I include TJ and his family. They might also harvest the organs of many of the protest leaders when it's all over.

Even though ‘Communist’ is a part of their name, I don’t consider this a communist agenda. I just think the ruling party will commit any sin to remain in power, and in particular Xi Jinping is willing to do whatever it takes to crush any dissent against his power base – either within in his party or without. I view this with foreboding for HK.

I would be interested in your view of what you consider evil in the modern world. My view is that instinctively predators are considered evil by many people. I don’t need to use the word ‘evil’ because I will try to understand certain behaviors as predatory or not. The CCP have a predatory mindset. Do you think there are there any equivalent mindsets in present-day Europe? I can think of a few outside Europe.

Or like buying Louisiana or Alaska? or deporting Acadians ? When does modern start... we arbitrarily have cutoffs it seems.

I will remake my point that the cutoff should be the creation of the United Nations in 1945. If a country signs on to the UN Charter then there is a duty to adhere to the principles of the charter. As a founding member of the UN, one may have hoped that China would have followed some of the principles in the charter, but they were already annexing Tibet in 1950.

My reference to Crimea as my reference to Taiwan First nations has to do with how far back to reach..

OK, so I would like to ask if you feel the Russians were justified in annexing Crimea. Do you think that UN Resolution 68/263 is a toothless commentary that the Russians can simply dismiss? Do you think the Russians care if they were expelled from the G8? Is Trump justified demanding the G7 reinstate Russia?

Changing the context to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, did the UN have any authority to issue a resolution to demand Iraq withdraw its troops from Kuwait? Did the 35 nations have justification to force Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait? Do you think Saddam Hussein was evil, or did that even matter?

I am no different.

OK, so what is your arbitrary cutoff for forcibly annexing other people? Has that time come yet?

Can't you just smell the realpolitik?

No, I can’t smell the realpolitik, just the desire of the people of HK to remain free for a while longer.

and all the dupes buying in?

Do you mean the people of HK who are protesting or maybe people on SI?
