Compared to Trump, Obama did have the higher ground. When Obama was President, Republicans cared about budget deficits, now they DON'T. Because the Democrats are Socialist and they are proposing free shit as far as the eye can see. Trump may get us to $30 Trillion in debt, but the Socialists will get us to $40-50 Trillion. Their Green New Deal alone is said to cost $10 trillion over the next 10 years. Add to that all the other stuff like free health care ($5 trillion), free college ($2 trillion), and Universal Basic Income ($5 trillion).. Trump is promising free shit as far as the eye can see too. As for the Dems, they're not going to be able to deliver on their promises. Most of the stuff you name won't ever be delivered. Green New Deal, universal basic income ... they're non-starters even for most Dems. It's like Trump promising a wall that Mexico would pay for... in reality, there ain't gonna be a wall and Mexico ain't gonna pay for it.
