When I said to one poster that I couldn't verify his numbers, he wrote a series of fallacies instead of providing a link. Others then jumped to his defense without one person providing a source proving what he wrote. It's like watching chaos within a bee hive. There's little to no individual thought. It's mindless drivel.
I'm referring to my ability to prove what I wrote when I posted a link proving what he said was wrong.
Since the idiot in the White House never had to tell us what his trade war goals were many are left wondering what the end result would look like but even with this limited guess work we know one thing with absolute certainty. The idiot said he'd win the trade war fast.
'But Trump quickly added on March 2, 2018, “[T]rade wars are good, and easy to win.”'
Needless to say, those who voted for him were 100% wrong about tariffs, free trade, trade wars, tax cuts, deficits, the ACA, China and so much more.
So is the trade war really about 5G? Let's review the facts (I'm not going to waste a lot of time on this).
Before the trade war began Trump put a ban on ZTE. What does ZTE make? It makes 5G phones.
Then, Trump was forced to lift the ban on ZTE without ZTE or China giving up anything. China saw a very weak man.
The trade war began and couldn't be won easily so he put a ban on Huawei but that ban was lifted also. What does Huawei do? It makes 5G phones and 5G networks. China made lifting the ban on Huawei a precondition to more talks and they knew Trump would give in. Trump gave in.
By this time, China knew what was going on. Two attacks on 5G companies? A coincidence?
This is when things got interesting. Instead of putting more 5G in rural areas (China's previous plan), China changed directions and started putting 5G networks in countries all over the world. I cited many of these countries in previous posts - from Brazil to numerous countries in Africa to the EU etc.
Yesterday, I posted an article about China putting 5G in over 300 large cities in China by 2020 and another on Huawei putting 5G in Australia and Japan (50 new contracts globally).
Recall that by this time China had to know the US couldn't compete with them on 5G and they knew the world was watching how this played out. That's why the ban on Huawei had to be lifted. Huawei is needed in the 50 contracts they signed in recent months so they had to force Trump to give in on the ban and basically admit it wasn't a "security threat." Now, it doesn't matter. It's too late for anyone to stop them.
In the end, none of these tariffs are legal since only Congress has the power to regulate foreign commerce. While a real president can use tariffs for things related to national security (a power given to him by Congress and is not in the Constitution) no one can argue any of this nonsense is national security so this means it's all illegal.
But we have a dictator in the Senate who we fondly refer to as Moscow Mitich. Moscow Mitch, Trump and the gop share two core principles - they want a dictatorship and an economy run by the government. The trillion dollar deficits they're giving us prove the second part of my statement.
The trade war is over and the US lost. Look at the two companies Trump banned and recall how fast Trump was forced to give in on both. Everyone sees a very weak man.
The world sees Trump as being very weak also and this is why France is working with Iran to undo what Trump broke and it's why France invited Iranians to the G7 without the US even knowing about it.
How can a company be a national security threat one day and not the next? It can't. But in Trump-world these morons think it all makes sense.
