If their's an improvement in 16Mb Dram, some of the manufactures will hang around with the 16Mb longer.

If the price erodes.... they can..

1) Move to higher capacity (higher profits)
2) Increase supply with less manafacturing cost (.25 microns)
3) Fold-up shop.

I like the combination of 1 and 2 :-)

I believe the price spike recently in DRAM was the result of the public eating up a TON of memory at incredibly cheap prices. Once that's filled... the won't upgrade for years.

I picked up about 112Mb recently and know of several others buying similiar amounts.

Continued DRAM sales will be with new computers etc..
