Northern latitudes are dry. Their vegetation is not soaked (holding lot of humidity). Their vegetation cannot tolerate any heat during the summer. This is compounded by the fact that their day night temperatures delta is not large. That means that, at night, the heat does not escape to space and cool the vegetation. It is just natural to have wild fires in Alaska, Canada and Siberia.. Compare Anchorage and Nairobi
