AT&T's primary 5G achievement is a little light in new phones which says '5Ge' when ever their customer is connected to a 4G-LTE connection. The 'e' means evolution, as in 10,000 years it might evolve into 5G.

As T-Mobile and Verizon continue to quickly upgrade 4G-LTE equipment to 5G networks, the difference between their networks and the AT&T network will become very noticeable.

AT&T has a very big dividend which has to be paid before network infrastructure budgets are made up. In addition, AT&T has a far more limited portfolio of 5G friendly spectrum.

With Deutsche Telekom providing the cheap German capital, T-Mobile-(sprint) will soon be the dominant cell phone provider in America, followed by Verizon, with AT&T trailing far behind.
