Trying again to get this discussion off the ASND thread....

This all hear-say! There is no factuals behind the signing, etc.
I have one simple question: Who taped this 24 year old's conversation? and why? I maybe wrong but I heard that the tapes were made by the 24 year old herself! If so I find it a bit strange for her to tape her conversation with her best friend unless she did not have some hidden agenda (or was set up to do so)!
Anyway, as I said I do not like Clinton (i voted for Dole in 96, and Perot in 92), but the more these accusations come out the more respect I seem to have for Clinton and the more I am becoming ashamed of considering myself as a Republican!
Addi, it's safe to say that your beliefs, if you really honestly believe them, are fringe. I'm not saying that the majority in opinion always rules, but the conventional wisdom is that the event (the affair) happened, but there are questions about whether Clinton broke the law in committing subornation, and if so, what to do about it.
Your facts (the taping) are wrong (the older woman did the taping), and your opinion defies rationality (ergo my comment that I think you don't really hold that opinion but are just saying it to elicit a response from the thread).
I'm a Clinton fan to the end, but it really is a disservice for you, another self-professed admirer of Clinton, to make idiotic comments like "I respect him more because he's a philanderer" and to base that opinion on flat-out wrong facts like the assertion that Lewinsky taped the conversations herself.
Clinton probably had the affair. He probably suggested, in a borderline legal manner, that she skirt the truth. I'm not happy about it, but I still think he should be our president, because the country has done well in the last five years. Clinton has surrounded himself with good people who are helping him run the country, and the only people rallying for impeachment are the ones who stand to gain personally from his downfall. |
