AML Communications Receives $2.2 Million Follow-On Order for Paging
Amplifiers

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1998--AML Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:AMLJ - news) Thursday
announced that it has received a follow-on order totaling $2.2 million from PageMart Wireless Inc. for paging amplifiers.

The contract is the third production order for AML's paging amplifiers, a new product line serving the worldwide paging
market. Shipments of the amplifiers are anticipated to begin during the company's current quarter.

Jacob Inbar, chairman and chief executive officer, commented on the order, saying: ''We are pleased to see additional
penetration into new markets and expansion of our customer base. This new contract from PageMart underscores our
commitment to successfully implement our diversification strategy.''

AML Communications designs, manufactures and markets multicarrier amplifiers and masthead amplifiers for the cellular,
PCS, paging and satellite communication markets.
