PhoneMiser Will Increase Traffic on TresCom Network
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1998--TresCom International Communications (NASDAQ:TRES - news) announced today that it has reached an agreement with MediaCom that will increase traffic on TresCom's network. Effective immediately, MediaCom's PhoneMiser users throughout the entire United States may connect to various Caribbean, Central American, South American and other international destinations via TresCom's telecommunications network.
TresCom has been aggressively expanding the capacity of its network and infrastructure, especially throughout Latin America and The Caribbean. Kristen Martin, TresCom Director of Marketing, said ''This agreement will increase traffic and enhance utilization of our extensive Latin American network. It will produce revenues from callers all over North America that our traditional niche marketing efforts might not otherwise reach.''
PhoneMiser is a new service that can be purchased in any of 2000 retail outlets nationally including Staples, Office Depot, CompUSA, Office Max, Best Buy and Egghead. Via ''Least Cost Routing'', callers using the service will automatically be connected to TresCom for many international destinations. In addition to the retail outlets, PhoneMiser can be purchased by downloading the software from www.phonemiser.com and the hardware or software versions are available by calling 1-888-THEMISER.
