Kindness should be a persons guiding light.
That's nice, but what does that have to do with Ayn Rand? She never argued against kindness nor personal charity.

Instead, she always argued against forced charity, the kind that says you are not a human being (and therefore should not be treated as such) unless you take up your moral obligation to help those who can't help themselves.

If that's the kind of "charity" that you are teaching your kids, then society will one day declare open season on their "story book lives."
