You are sadly mistaken to think that investors add no value. This is economics 101. Investors are the one who delay gratification and provide capital for the engineers/ entrepenuers. Investors assume risk by investing their capital in these ventures and projects to allow it to happen. One cannot be successful without the other. As to the term geek- its applied to "market geeks" as well. Just my $0.02.
