You do understand that Bush was in office for only 3 of the 12 months in that peak, right? And that that deficit was adjusted DOWNWARD by a prior-period adjustment as a result of the allocation of the 700 Billion that Obama, not Bush, spent. And that which Bush DID spend was mostly recovered, so it was reclassified from expense to asset which was mostly collected in the end.

Then where did that spike come from? Obama spent nearly a trillion dollars in his second month in office in the form of "stimulus" which he later joked about: "Those shovel ready jobs weren't shovel ready after all." In fact, they were entirely NON-STIMULATIVE.

When combined with idiot policy under Obama which made it more expensive to hire people, we got the same lasting effect FDR brought during the Depression: An event which should have ended quickly, dragged out for a full decade. Obama came close to the same with his jobless recovery.

We're not going to settle this because truth is less important to you than politics. But I can't help that. I can only speak truth and you can absorb it or not.
