Well, not compared with Obama. But Bush's deficits were higher than anticipated due to the wars. Still, deficits are primarily a product of failing social programs and ever-increasing interest on the debt. Today, social programs (healthcare, ss) are in the driver's seat, and it is inarguable Obama exacerbated mightily that problem.
