9/13/2019 Contest update
Although triskaidekaphobia may have kept some biotech investors on the sidelines Friday, the sector did manage to have a decent week.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 13.17% YTD (vs. up 12.37% a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 7.62% YTD (vs. up 5.54% a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 14.17% YTD (vs. up 10.21% a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 23.23% YTD (vs. up 22.12% YTD a week ago).
BULBA’s portfolio had a good week, continuing as Contest leader with a 99.12% YTD gain. ANDRE’s portfolio, up 53.67% YTD, and OHMS’ portfolio, up 51.41% YTD, remained in second and third place.
At Friday's close, 29 of the 39 Contest portfolios were still in the green, while 25 were now beating the NBI and 18 were now beating the SPSIBI.
The 167 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 17.59% and, moving back into positive territory, a median YTD gain of 4.17%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: None.
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits & mergers, greatly appreciated.)
Enjoy a safe and relaxing penultimate summer weekend biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
