Terriers are notoriously hard to train and I have never trained one. That said, much the same is said about my favorite breed. Some breeds just require a little extra effort.

My thoughts on dog training in general are actually quite well documented on this forum and they all come with a HUGE caveat: No method is perfect and no method works for every dog. A LOT depends on what YOU are comfortable with.

Bottom line (for me):

Whatever training method you use, the result will be in direct correlation to the time you invest and your willingness to discipline when called for and your UNLIMITED willingness to praise when called for.

Dogs are essentially pack animals. In every pack there is an “Alpha”. You need to assert yourself as the “Alpha”.
