I made an adjustment for the time and era and said it was about the mindset.
People and cultures, in the aggregate, are much smarter than they were 100 years ago.
But we still have racists, sexists, homophobe's, criminals, ignorant and neurotic people. and IMO, most of those are in the Republican party.
Spend some time comparing the Democrats in congress to the Republicans in congress and compare what they believe in. Take a close look at the people who are in each party. the best and brightest are easily the Democrats.
MOST Republicans still can't even wrap their mind around evolution and don't believe in AGW / globa warming.
In a PEW poll taken a few years ago it said 80% of scientists lean Democratic and 51% called themselves liberals.
Only 6% called themselves Republicans--why is that do you think?
As well, today there are 93 Democratic women in the House of representatives and only 13 Republicans.
The mind set between Democrats and Republicans, conservatives and liberals is different.
Which mind set do you think would have been supporting Hitler?

To compare the post WW1 depression based mindset of the German people which brought Hitler into power to the current American situation / mindset is simply wrong.
Germany at that time was economically devastated. Bread lines and mass unemployment. Hitler promised to fix it and he actually did in the early years of being in power. That was before he went crazy / grew a devastating ego.
Trump, on the other hand, started up with an out of this world ego and from what I can tell, hasn’t bettered the life of the average American since becoming “King”. |
