Don't worry about it, Rose. It was a long time ago, there was a war on, there is more to the story, yaddayaddayadda. We don't want California back anyway, there is too much pavement now and it would be hard to plant the ma¡z. It was just my smartass way of suggesting that perhaps people could take the various ancient wars over to the "Nationalist Invective and History Revision" thread, over in Coffee Shop. This is a planet-wide forum, and any group or nation you can name has wronged and been wronged in the past, and it's all quite irrelevant to the price of gold.
While we're way off topic - My only direct contact with a US forces WWII veteran is with a Mexican archaeologist who trained as bomber ground crew at Brownsville, Texas. If the war had lasted a little longer, he would have been overseas. He was, of course, a volunteer. He speaks six languages (including enough Japanese to guide the Prime Minister of Japan) and has an open mind, though he would be disgusted by xenophobias breaking out on the Gold Monitor thread. If you're ever in Palenque, Chiapas, ask for Mo¡se Morales, and stay at his lodge, El Panch n, if you can, it is cheap and friendly.
I see you discussing VIX over on the Gold-XAU thread - Bill Hueb on the Kahuna thread uses VIX, and in a post a couple of weeks ago explained what it means and how he uses it; 207.183.153.73

I came across an interesting passage about the gold/silver standard and the history of M‚xico in the last century in a book by Charles C. Cumberland, I'll type it in when there's time. ......... cheers ......... marcos |
