You mentioned you like to set up full hedges on companies that won't go belly-up, making money off the interest.

What kind of target ROI do you use in selecting situations ?

Also, my broker was not familiar with the rule that margin is only required on the difference between the conv cost and short sale of stock. While he admits it's ok, he has to do a "manual" offset between conv and shorted stock in my account. The problem is that as I look at my account on the internet, my true buying power is never reflected - ie. I don't know how much I have left in my margin account for new purchases.

Do you have any such problems ?
