It's a fantasy of mine that when I retire, I run a farm and get to create a new breed that is focused on 3 things: (1) being a great schutzhund dog, and (2) good health and long life, (3) Low maintenance.

The dogs will come in at least a dozen series which are made of genetically identical base breeds but from different parentage (call it series A - L). IF/when I succeed at this there will be 3 conditions for someone to get one of these dogs:

(1) Each dog will have a 12 letter parentage tag that describes its previous ancestors (e.g. ABCDEF...). No one is allowed to breed a dog with one that shares any of the last 6 letters. The offspring will get the 6 most recent letters of its parents. This way you can be sure that no inbreeding has occurred within the last 3 generations and will know the lineage back to 6 generations.

(2) The breed's description will be based purely on attitude and aptitude and nothing in the looks whatsoever.

(3) No one gets to "own" the dogs. They will have a pretty good "lease" to use/have the dogs so long as they meet the licensing agreement which includes taking training lessons for the owner and obedience lessons for the dog.

I have already devised which breeds should be included in the baseline based on aptitude and genetic diversity. I estimate that it will take at least 10 years of breeding (probably more) to create it. But I don't have the time and resources to do so now. So like I said, it remains a fantasy.
