On the other hand it is considered a MAJOR PROBLEM to have the affairs made public.

As you may know, I live in Italy. Here many politicians have mistresses, and everyone knows about it. In that sense, their affairs are "public". BUT the press doesn't report on this stuff, rightly believing that it has nothing to do with their public roles.
