Satire closes on Saturday Night, My sources for the inventory stuffing are Microage, Ingram Micro D, TechData, and Compucom, the largest distributors in the world. Your source for Compaq's "can't happen" statement is from the same co. that got caught inventory stuffing in 1995. And who also got caught lying in Xmas 1906, saying a pc model was completely sold out and then, the next week, coming out with $100 rebates. But some minor forest deities will believe any crap these guys spew. -g- The trick is, CPQ could, against all odds, be telling the truth and it is just their numbers and estimates that are skewed toward the pollyanna side.

BTW, I have no position at all in Compaq at the moment, other than as the owner of a crappy machine that they cannot fix.
