Yes, that is common among investment houses and analysts.

However, saying their price target won't come true because it hasn't in the past and assuming the stock will behave in the same way it did previously after one of their upgrades is not good critical thinking.

The only way I see it happening again the way you say is if the overall market melts down, taking AAPL down with it.
