I can think of a number of challenges to this stock but, based on the tech support experiences I've had,
R/W CD is not one of them. It is interesting how many intelligent people don't want to be bothered
with details, and writing to CD *as of now* involves a bit more thinking than using either a zip or syquest.
Maybe too simple an analysis but I see this often. I've also seen really intelligent people encounter
weird glitches making CDs, generally having to do with the rate of data transfer.
I like new toys but I spend a lot of time troubleshooting one thing or another & at the end of the day time is more precious to me than money. Also - did you mean tapes? (Ditto?) or carts?

On a broader front, I've been reflecting lately about the whole zip saga and wondering why
the hard drive makers even let Iomega, Syquest or Pinnacle survive. Why did they spend
years making smaller, faster & cheaper hard drives and not take the next step?
Am I missing something here? Maybe this has been hashed over. But it seems like a beautiful
tale of grabbed (and missed) opportunities. The current kick in the guts aside, it seems ironic
that Iomega may now be in a position to buy a hard drive maker.
