That dispute has been in the filings for years ... probably more on the US side, edgar instead of sedar ... think it's pretty much the same wording, too ... what's new is the blockade, also the 31jul decision of the appeals court
Royalties are paid as percentage of production, and there has been no production, so it's difficult to see how anything can be owed yet ... i have wondered, on reading past paragraphs under the Risks section of edgars, if somebody in prior management did some verbose arm-waving about near-term production, which did seem quite likely at certain points, and what they said was taken as firm promises ... wouldn't be the first time in history ... it's also possible it's a simple plain everyday shakedown, wouldn't be the first time for that either ... quite likely a combination, actually
There was another dispute that the company won hands-down, similar size of claim, 5 or 6m bucks, one or two individuals, had no merit whatsoever, this was years ago now
The presidente Lopez Obrador was in the area recently, you have to wonder if the blockade was designed to coincide with his presence ... regardless of what Otto says on the matter, there is no question that he has always presented as highly socialistic, so there will be hope in many quarters that big bucks can be gained through political pressure ... i had a couple of videos up last night on seeing your post, but computer needs a refresh right now, there was no substance to them other than shouting and playing the role, and not so many people involved either ... i'll try again later, using the following in duckduckgo -
