For a man, the length/height of the phone doesn't matter much as long as it fits in a side pocket. But the width matters a lot as even a quarter inch can made a big difference on how comfortable holding the phone is.

Based on this, I predict that the Microsoft Surface Duo that was announced yesterday will flop. It is clearly too wide to hold comfortably in hand, and likely too wide for a some side pockets. So MS should have gone all in and made a flip tablet with a SIM slot rather than a compromising to call it a phone...I could live with something that is roughly the size of two Samsung Note in a clam shell.
