Here is a question for you referring to WW2. When Germany invaded Poland, the UK declared war on Germany. Russia also invaded Poland at the same time... why didn't the UK declare war on Russia too? Fact is during wars, there are always a few guys behind the scenes pulling strings. China is the growing threat to the USA, more so then Russia imho.
