Newsletters/Forums vs. Mainstream Media Little Investors vs. Major Players
Just some thoughts on previous comments made today. Just consider that without the Internet, e-mail communication, forums, newsletters etc, the little guy investor was often at the mercy of the mainstream press, insider pr machines and price manipulations of the market makers, shorters, insiders and the like. Not to say that this doesn't still happen today, but much of these shenanigans have become much more transparent. Of course the pump and dump group etc have more vehicles to 'fleece' the public also but overall I perceive the playing field as evening out a little. At the very lest I can say that one benefit is that I was able to send my full service broker packing a while ago.
Get this, my broker's assistant started phoning me for info on KRY. These guys simply regurgitate whaterver the PR machines feed Reuters, Bloomberg, FP, Globe & Mail etc. Much of this group couldn't do their own dd if their lives/jobs depended on it.
Sorry for the long winded epistle, but this is just another side of the story.
