Thanks for responding so well to Reg's objection to my example, Dan. Unfortunately, I have not always been able to respond so quickly to all the postings. Something to do with NSCP wanting me to actually do some work for the money they pay me.

The OS market is a lot like my example, and it will be more so if MSFT can dominate the Internet. Although at this juncture, I do not believe that even they will be able to do so. With standards more or less looking like they will succeed and with the success of Java and the NOISE crowd. Not to mention the sentiment that has become either hostile or at least suspicious of MSFT in a few niche markets such as banking, real estate, car sales, retail, publishing, cable, etc:)
