PX,

>>When you first got your dialup connection to the Net, did you find yourself storing MORE or LESS on your local disks?<< Well, when I first got my dial-up connection, I had a 2400 bps modem and a tiny hard drive (can't remember the spec). I was storing more, much more. As a percentage of total storage capacity, I was overwhelmed and desperately needed to upgrade. Lately, with a 56K modem, I am storing more data in real terms but considerably less as a percentage of disk capacity.

I might add that 3 memory hog applications have been wiped from my hard drive because the functions I used them for have been replaced by on-line applications. A net loss in stored data on my local hard drive.

Please remember, I agree that business computers will require more and more storage capacity. My worries are in the home computer area.

By the way, I have removed the DD sector's individual stocks from my "watch list" so this is probably my last post here. I tend to believe that those with no present or potential financial interest in a thread should just lurk.
