Well, you are right about this country being ruled by Mammon. Everyone is narcissistic these days. However, Republicans typically do give far more to charity than do Democrats. Democrats just like to use government to give other people's money to charity cases. I oppose that, because that is the opposite of freedom. Everyone is free to give their money away to charity. Why don't we see more of the tech billionaires do that? Bill Gates is a great example on how charities should work.
As for this country being Fascist, I also believe that to be the case. We're a very strange mix of Fascism and Socialism. Capitalism is disappearing. Even the stock and bond markets are no long mechanisms for price discovery based on supply and demand, risk and reward of the underlying companies. Rather, they are simply manipulated markets. The Fed has distorted everything, and what they haven't, the big banks have picked up the slack and malformed the rest.
Having said all that, I think the Democrats believe the answer is to go back 75 years into history and dredge up Socialism to try that old piece of shit theory again, as if it would work better this time around. Instead, of repeating history, we should try something very novel. Let's get rid of the Fed and allow free markets to work properly. That would solve a lot of the problems we see today. We need to tackle the Fed, corruption, cronyism, and Fascism. Those are the root causes of everything you see going on in this country. Socialism won't solve those things. Socialism will calcify and etch those things in stone. |
