That should be the case BUT mortgage debt outstanding has been lagging dramatically has only gotten back to 2007 peak recently. We might just be starting a cash out and HELOC cycle again hide some of the ills of consumer debt out of control already.

Of course if you have no equity you are screwed paycheck to paycheck probably bad credit live in a cash only word that as a group only gets larger and larger every year that reeks more and more socialism and dependency.. Can't tell you how many of these people I've tried to help and empower in recent years..Unlike Rarebird i live in the real world not some textbook or pure ideological bubble. It never works...'give a man a fish you feed him for a day teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime...' Perhaps if I had lived in just an upper middle class professional world worlds apart from struggles and poor life choices at the bottom my entire adult life I'd still be naive too...
