Trillion dollar deficit during a bull market isn’t good. The next recession will see the dollar slide and gold moving sharply higher. The deficit is not because of a single party. Simply put, paying debt requires unpopular measures, such as cutting spending or hiking taxes, while everybody wants lower taxes and higher spending. Republicans tend to lower taxes (without lowering spending), Democrats tend to increase spending (without hiking taxes). The deficit grows.
