No, my fig, now at least 4 metres tall, is grown from a cutting from a tree in a nearby park that is probably 12 metres tall and more than that wide; it would be quite a feat for that much plant to regrow every year.

Most figs grown out here on the West Coast are the tree variety. It is generally about a 50/50 chance that the second crop will ripen. It didn't actually get down to freezing here last night so we still have a shot if there is another warm spell.
