<<<If PC Data and Multimedia Wire are way off, GKM/THQ should shoot it down as quickly as possible.>>>

Well, I don't have the newsletter in front of me, but the general thrust of the story was that companies should be careful when entering the PC market with higher priced product. They used Pax as an example of an effort that failed (which is where th 18,000+ number came from). I also believe they interviewed the founders of Heliotrope who said they were less concerned because the game should sell 8-9,000 copies every month or year (sorry, I just don't have it in front of me). The Heliotrope guy they interviewed seemed to think that the game would make money, but I think it will be hard to really generate the revenues many on this and other boards were predicting if THQ did indeed ship 100-200,000 copies.
