The Kurds have been our allies in the fight against ISIS and have been doing the bulk of the frontline fighting. This has been the case for years. During that time they have demonstrated themselves to be excellent allies, even as other groups with whom we partnered in the area have betrayed us. This, despite some initial concern about the Kurds.
The same thing has been happening through history.

Texas was part of Mexico, but the mexicans living there hated their government and decided to cescede from Mexico. The Americans fought along side the Tehanos (Texas Mexicans). When the war was over the Americans turned on the Tehanos and ran them off their lands they had built homes on, killing those who didn't leave.

Trump, Putin and Xi to name a few are just people never admit to making mistakes, who have no respect for others and have BSed their way into power. You can't fight them they are ruthless and it may cost you your life if you speak truth to them. They are just people and will eventually die. We can then celebrate their deaths.
