Penni, when I was talking about sexual addiction in relation to Billy, it was in NO WAY to excuse his behavior. This simply is a recognized mental illness, and treatment is available. My point is that all adults in ordinary reality are responsible to get help for their problems if help is available and they are out of control in some part of their lives, so they don't hurt their families, friends, and in this case, perhaps all of us.
Yes, he is incapable of self-control and good judgment, but that is because he has a compulsive behavior disorder. I think EVEN less of Billy because over a long number of years he created pain in his marriage and for many other women, snuck around, was constantly at the end being pursued and confronted with the reality of his misbehavior, and simply continued with it. He certainly had the money and the connections to find a very good therapist, and begin treatment.
