Excuse me for intruding but something was said that should be discussed further . The Earth has been cooling and warming for a very long time one of the very dramatic cycles of this is about 200 years long . Wikipedia Maunder Minimum was 400 years ago a chart of sun spot activity is on the top right of this link . en.wikipedia.org Note the solar flare/sun spot count in the 1800's (Dalton Minimum a period of cold ) average under 50/day . See the count in the Maunder zero to 1 or 2 or very low #'s . Note how the sun spot count climbed into the last 70 years . It takes a while for the ocean earth and atmosphere to warm . The # of sun spots on the face of the sun facing Earth can be seen as a proxy for a warming or cooling Earth . We have had zero to 1 or 2 sun spots / day since Jan of this year . You can see them on a daily basis here at spaceweather.com A Russian Grandmother at an English University has figured out what the sun is telling us and how it does it , Vanentina Zharkova . She would disagree and say we are going to have global cooling , it is starting this year .
