I've read about the donkeys as stock protectors. Interesting mindset of those things. They also make good family pets if you can get past the fact that they are donkeys. I"m more inclined to get another German Shepherd. They can deal with 2 and 4 legged predators. And unlike a donkey, they respond to your personal requests. I remember the time a distant cousin and his new girlfriend visited an old farm house I was renovating. I opened the door and Levi, all 120 lbs of GSD walked out towards them. I said, ""kill the man and bring me the woman.....The look on their faces makes me laugh even 20 years later. I laughed so hard at the time I nearly pissed me knickers. A donkey can't get you that kind of memories. Guilt did cost me dinner and a part time job for him.
