American Sales

I cannot stress enough the importance of this one lone aspect of the report. Earnings only appreciated 23% in North America year to year. This has really bad implications for this year's outlook. If American sales are flat or even lose ground this year, the lack of Institutional Interest and Individuals selling will cause the stock will tank to the Pink Sheets.

The $100MM Iomega advertising blitz is indeed a Hail Mary, similar to the one John Elway will be throwing this Sunday as he desperately tries to get his Broncos back in the game with 1:17 left in the 4th behind 27 to 10. Elway will fail. Iomega will push more Zips out the door by blitzing the airwaves, but not make the margins they are used to. They will also draw attention to the rest of the field. SyQuest should see a bump in sales along with IOM.
