my dad had one of those zenith portable radios, from the zenith/appollo era....with the leather case. sort of 50's modern glass toned chrome, etc. he adored it.
the market mistargeting is a grave error... if not just a hideous mistake. the name brand awareness may well be lost on generation X, but it remains an eminently viable lightning rod of good will....
like ampex like bell&howell like sunbeam but also like GE, AT&T, and WESTINGHOUSE ( revitalized and vibrant again, or very close to it )
tonight i looked at the good guys circular. like best buy, and like circuit city it featured: sony, toshiba, RCA/proscan, JVC, hitachi, mitsubishi, panasonic, and................one mention of zenith's 35" TV.
