How can he say with a straight face that the US "got everything we could have wished for" with this "great deal" with Turkey?

Such a deal maker. Throwing under the bus one of our few staunch allies who has actually fought and died for US interests in the 21st century to an asshole like Erdogen. Surely even Republican Senators see what a travesty this is.

If it weren't for the fact that the US committed genocide against Native Americans while stealing their land and breaking almost every treaty we ever made with them over the first 150 years of our existence and if it weren't for the fact that we enslaved several million people to grow cotton, sugar, rice and other exports that made the country wealthy in the 19th century and then had the gall to proclaim and enforce myriad Jim Crow laws, debt servitude and convict labor, I would say that this is the most outrageous thing that the US has ever done.

But the bar for that statement is very high. As nauseating as it is, Trump still hasn't managed to jump over it. But he may get there yet--his bff Vlady Puty is counting on it.
