It's not the same SCSI chip but it is Adaptec SCSI UW.

I have been looking at the Supermicro boards too. With the onboard SCSI and the onboard sound I almost get the TYAN board for free! (and save two expansion slots)

I still have quite a bit of research to do on the motherboards but I needed to pick one to get the ball rolling.
