You think Germany might drop bombs on France-lol?

When you talk about Turkey and Russia, both on Europe's fringes, you are talking about two countries that are mostly dictatorships and both have cultures decades behind the rest of the world and located adjacent to the middle east that has virtually no democracies and 13th century cultures still intact.

That is why Bush was able to start wars there.

Bush could never have invaded any country in Europe, or say Canada or Mexico-lol.

These subtle differences are part of the equation I laid out.

<<

"Do you really think the same dangers exist today for two world wars in Europe that happened in the last century?"

Much bigger; the bomb wasn't used until the last week of the war. Next time, about 10,000 bombs could be used in the first and only week. It won't be a war with many blitzkriegs and tank battles.

Turkey is also part European. It's not impossible that Russia and Turkey will bump heads in Syria. We could spark something by going after Iran. Russia could keep pushing into Ukraine. Putin could provoke something by cutting off energy exports to Europe.
