Bob, even I'm impressed with the numbers. This is new ground being plowed. A lot of comparisons on this thread are not valid. With these numbers, internet retail growth will be considered more explosive than previously thought. CDNow's IPO may be perfect timing, for example, especially since they're adopting AMZN's aggressive pricing strategy.

The most surprising thing is margin. No one predicted an uptick, especially with the deep discounting that went on during the Xmas season. What are you betting the price decline on? A flat quarter? Won't happen. Insider selling? It's had no impact so far in spite of widespread predictions of sharp decline.

The problem with long term fundamental evaluations is not knowing the ancillary financial benefit of related products, partnering, other services, advertising, etc. It's not valid to use BKS business model. There is no model for what AMZN is doing, and that's why it's a dangerous short. Be careful. Good luck.
